Bio

Kevin Hayden is an American drummer and producer currently residing in Milwaukee WI. Born and raised in Fort Wayne IN, his musical journey began at age two in the realm of gospel. During his high school days, he was introduced to the music of The Yellowjackets and jazz fusion artist Dave Weckl. This would mark the beginning of Kevin’s signature sound which fuses jazz and gospel. After graduating high school and completing four years in the Marines, Kevin decided to pursue music as a career by relocating to Milwaukee. In just a few months time, he became one of the most sought after drummers in the area.

In 2006, Kevin would go on to study music business at Milwaukee Area Technical College under drum instructor, Ben Hans. One year later, Gospel Chops CEO, Gerald Forrest took notice to Kevin’s talent via Youtube and invited him to be a part of a video series, Bass Sessionz Vol 1. This recording allowed him the privilege of working alongside drumming legend Peter Erskine. In 2009, Kevin started his own band, the Kevin Hayden Band, an instrumental music group formed in the likes of jazz, hip-hop and R&B. With six independent music projects recorded, Kevin Hayden Band currently plays at various jazz clubs and music festivals across the mid west. Collaborative efforts have included shows with the Robert Glasper Experiment and Snarky Puppy.
